Alpha Delta Pi was founded as the first secret society for women in 1851 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Clemson University's Zeta Nu chapter was founded in 1976. Our sorority is committed to high academic standards, social responsibility, sisterhood, values, and ethics.
To date, Alpha Delta Pi has initiated more than over 260,000 women, many of whom are actively involved in one of over 161 active collegiate chapters and 150 alumnae associations throughout the United States and Canada.
In our Zeta Nu Chapter, we currently have 398 active members and well over 2100 alum. Every member holds a special place in the heart of our chapter and brings something uniquely amazing to the table. Whether it’s leadership, kindness, creativity, or support, each person helps shape who we are. Together, those differences are what make our chapter feel like home. 💗
A Letter From Our President
Welcome to the Zeta Nu Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi! I’m Caroline O’Halloran, and I have the incredible privilege of serving as Chapter President this year. In just two and a half short years, Alpha Delta Pi has given me abundantly more than I could have ever imagined. I am absolutely honored to have the opportunity to lead a chapter of such confident, well-rounded, and kind women.
There is something sincerely special about the women who call themselves Zeta Nus. As a potential new member going through recruitment at Clemson, Alpha Delta Pi was the first party I stepped into during the process. ADPi first met me as a nervous but excited incoming freshman walking through the doors of Littlejohn Coliseum. I was met by women truly set apart from those around us. They exuded confidence, genuineness, and kindness—a feeling that eased my anxious nerves in a way I will never forget or be able to fully communicate. Alpha Delta Pi saw potential in me, even as a timid PNM, and has encouraged me over the last two and a half years. This chapter has watched me grow into the bold and confident woman I am today, believing in me and providing whatever resources I needed along the way.
In my previous role as Director of Philanthropy, I was not only able to pour into this chapter, but also into an ever-deserving community. Last year, I helped organize three large-scale philanthropy events, raising nearly $90,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, our national philanthropy. Overseeing these events taught me the importance of teamwork, service, and selflessness—skills that have proven invaluable in my personal life. Looking back on this term, I am completely and utterly amazed by how the women of Alpha Delta Pi serve each other and the community so well, logging nearly 23,000 service hours in organizations on and off campus and consistently showing up for one another. Sisterhood and service are qualities my sisters value greatly, and ones I have found great joy in.
When I think about the legacy I want to leave at Clemson and in Alpha Delta Pi, one word comes to mind: love. Serving as Chapter President gives me the unique opportunity to love as many women in this chapter as possible, as well as share my love for this sisterhood with them. Throughout my term, I hope to live out my mission statement day in and day out: “To love fiercely, lead boldly, and foster an inclusive chapter where every member is seen, heard, loved, and celebrated.” Joining Alpha Delta Pi has undoubtedly been the best decision of my college career, and I am deeply humbled and excited to lead with empathy, grace, and—most importantly—love this year.

With Love and Loyalty,
Caroline O’Halloran
